Supporting people who are blind & partially sighted throughout East Sussex

The East Sussex Association of Blind and Partially Sighted People (ESAB) was established in 1921. We are a registered charity (209535) dedicated to providing vital services to blind and partially sighted people who live within East Sussex. Our Patron is the Lord Lieutenant of East Sussex, who is himself severely sight impaired. ESAB currently supports over 1,700 people who are blind or partially sighted.

Whilst aiming to increase the independence, confidence and wellbeing of blind and partially sighted people, we also work to promote the understanding of sight loss in local communities.

To ensure we’re providing the best services to our members we have a User Reference Group. Comprising of 16 visually impaired members, who express their opinions and help ESAB continue providing an excellent level of service.

ESAB has over 250 volunteers dedicated to supporting our members as well as multiple members of staff who have a visual impairment. In addition, four of our Trustees are also visually impaired.
